The BMW Frankfurt Marathon experienced a grand jubilee race on the 30th of October 2011. The 30th Edition of the event became one of the most dramatic and most prestigious city marathon races ever. Wilson Kipsang missed the world record by only 4 seconds. The Kenyan won the BMW Frankfurt Marathon in 2:03:42 hours and crowned the anniversary with a splendid course record. Even among the women there were world class times in Frankfurt: Mamitu Daska (Ethiopia) ran also a course record in 2:21:59 hours.
The record number of marathon runners was 15 210 at the start of the 30th BMW Frankfurt Marathon. All competitions added together, 25 305 athletes participated at the event. Once again it was a fantastic weekend for the sport of running and for the city of Frankfurt: spectator record, record number of participants, course record for men and for women, satisfied recreational athletes, great circuit parties and the weather on our side. This is thanks to the dedication of many people who love the sport of running and have given all their best.

The sporting goods trade fair Marathonmall took place at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre in Hall 1.2 from 28 to 30 October 2011. The Marathonmall belongs traditionally to the social program of the Frankfurt Marathon. Last year it was first organized by the sports agency motion events GmbH.

With around 120 exhibitors and approximately 2906.5 square meters of rented space the fair could replicate the success of recent years.
The “shopping mile” for amateur and professional athletes and for sports and fitness enthusiasts of all ages attracted some 46,000 visitors last year. The fair provides a wide range of textiles, shoes, running equipment, technology, sports medicine, wellness and much more. Exhibitors will take advantage of a very high number of visitors and many presentation options.

The next Marathonmall is scheduled to take place from 26 to 28 October 2012 in Hall 1, Level 2 of the Frankfurt exhibition grounds.
